OUR HOUSE

 Villa Eglantine is a beautifully-restored stone house, with a park-like Mediterranean garden and large private pool (10m x 4.5m).

This attractive area of Languedoc offers river swimming, canoeing, watersports, cycling, rock climbing and golf. The house is 30-40 minutes from the sea and about 20 minutes from river bathing and caneoing on the Orb.   

Villa Eglantine is set against the backdrop of the mountains of the Languedoc regional park.  

                                      The wonderful garden has many beautiful trees and plants, with a large shady terrace... all just minutes from the  heart of a medieval village.   

 

 

Lovingly restored in 2007, the house combines modern comfort with many original features, including exposed beams and antique tiles.  

There's a fully-equipped kitchen, UK satellite TV and a superbly spacious master bedroom. Two of the bedrooms have double beds with en-suite shower rooms. The other two have single beds and share a large family bathroom.  

 

For recreation, there's a table tennis table for use in the garden or garage. A barbecue is provided for al fresco eating on the terrace.   

The house is about four minutes walk from the centre of the village with a range of local amenities: two bakeries, butcher, pharmacy, doctor's surgery, general food shop, newspaper shop, post office, hair dresser, bar etc.

 There's a first-class restaurant within walking distance at the local Chateau. An excellent takeaway pizza service comes to the village twice a week. Other restaurants and a large supermarket and bank are five minutes drive away in the next village.  

There are walks through vineyards within a couple of minutes of the house and the regional park offers mountain walks and waterfall bathing .
